10 years ago, CCC hosted its very first Celebrity Golf Classic as a way to use the game of golf as a tool to help those in need. We're happy to report that over the past 10 years, since its inception, the CCC Celebrity Golf Classic has raised over $100,000 for various charities and causes including those focusing on hunger, poverty, homelessness, children, and education.
We are grateful to everyone who has contributed over the years by helping us make a meaningful difference in people's lives, whether you've given us your time, talent or treasury.
This year, as we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the CCC Celebrity Golf Classic, we hope that you will join us in making this occasion a very special one. To that end, we are pleased to support the New York City Mission Society. For more than 200 years they have worked tirelessly on the front lines to improve the lives of youth and families in New York City's most underserved communities by providing educational support, workforce development, restorative justice, and supportive services that respond to community needs.
The 10th Anniversary Of the CCC Celebrity Golf Classic will take place on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Colonial Springs Golf Club in East Farmingdale, NY. Past participants include NFL Hall Of Famer Jerome Bettis, former NFL stars Richard Caster and Maurice Spencer, former NBA stars Lowes Moore and Wes Matthews. WCBS-TV anchor Maurice DuBois, WNBC-TV Long Island reporter Greg Cergol, NBC Golf announcers Dan Hicks and Jimmy Roberts, news anchor and journalist Gary Anthony Ramsay, local news legend Bill McCreary, renowned musician Ray Chew, former Congressman Ed Towns, former NYC Comptroller and Mayoral candidate William Thompson and many others.
We look forward to your involvement as we continue our efforts to support those less fortunate. With your help, together, we can continue to make a strong impact in the communities we serve.
